The New Rotation…

9thaprilmakeup

There comes a time when even your most tried and tested products start to bore you a little (I’m looking at you Chantecaille tinted moisturizer) and you want to mix things up a little in terms of your daily makeup routine. I did exactly that last week by purchasing two (sort of) newbies and re-finding my old favourite Bobbi Brown cream blush in Calypso. I first tried Bourjois healthy mix serum a few years ago and loved it, however being a makeup junkie I quickly moved on to another foundation and completely forgot about its existence…that was until I started seeing it pop up on various blogs and I remembered just how damn good it was. Medium coverage, amazing smell, easily blended- it’s the ideal foundation and it’s cheap. I find that the shade 55 suits me perfectly and a little goes a long way, I love smoothing this into my skin for an utterly dewy and flawless finish.

Next up on the new rotations is the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo eyeshadow in On and On the Bronze. A sort of creamy consistency that leaves a lovely dewy neutral eye which doesn’t budge! I absolutely love it and have been wearing it daily since I bought it last week, I’ve even been using it as a base for a smokey eye and it works equally well on nights out. I find bronze tones really suit my colouring and this one is really interesting as it’s paler than most bronze shades, it is bright and Spring like and works so well from day to night.

Lastly, back into my makeup bag goes my Bobbi Brown cream blush in Calypso, a gorgeous pink-y coral which leaves a natural yet creamy peach-y flush which is ideal for the transition from Spring to Summer which is really easily applied to both the apples of the cheeks or the lips. I love using this on holiday in the evenings as it offsets a tan beautifully.

I’m finding these products all add a certain glow-y dew factor which is so perfect for these Spring months, subtle yet polished which is my go-to look. A little bit of liquid liner, some mascara, concealer and some brow pencil and that’s my 10 minute face done and ready to leave the house. Quick smudgy products that don’t require brushes or hassle- perfect!
