For me there are two types of “working from home” days. 1) I have a fully stocked fridge, a whole load of non filming work to do and I don’t plan on leaving the house at all. That look doesn’t need explaining – it could be anything, who cares? I’m basically being a hermit.
Look no.2 however is what I find most common. The days where I spend the majority of it in front of my desk, but might pop out to meet someone for a coffee, run some errands, grab some lunch, go for a walk. Those are the days where I still don’t want to wear much on my face, but I don’t want to be totally bare for a variety of reasons. I suffer from old acne scarring and pigmentation, which means that when I’m makeup free I feel incredibly self conscious leaving the house. For some reason I’m fine filming without makeup, and I’m fine being in a car and seeing friends and family without a scrap on, but once I’m outside I just feel really vulnerable, and even if it’s a bleak Wintry dark day, I still worry about SPF and my skin being exposed to the elements. In occasions like these I’ll pop on either Smashbox CC cream or BareMinerals Serum Foundation, as both are nourishing and light weight and the next best thing for my skin after no makeup at all.
I also then like to use a brightening concealer, for me NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard works miracles and I like bringing that down into two triangles under my eyes. I then like to put a teeny bit of eyeliner on just to frame my eyes, at the moment this Lord & Berry in Velvetto is a gorgeous minky hue which is almost undetectable. A few lashings of Bobbi Brown Smokey Mascara and some brow definition with this amazing brow pencil from Delilah (full review coming soon) and a generous layer of lip balm (my current favourite is Nuxe Reve De Miel) and I’m good to go!
I then whack my hair in a top knot and put on some leggings, over sized cosy jumper and some snuggly socks and I’m done!
I’m exactly feeling the “not-wanting-a-full-face-of-makeup-but-still-a-bit-of-something-something” vibe! Great picks, the NARS Concealer is one of my everyday staples, too! Maybe I’ll have look at that Smashbox CC Cream next time I hit the shops!
