Back To Black

Last night I headed to the Amy Winehouse Foundation Ball which is a truly amazing charity that raises awareness for drug and alcohol abuse. For the occasion I popped down to the newly opened Duck & Dry on the Kings Road for a speedy blow dry and up do. My hairdresser Natalia managed to wash, tong and whip my locks up into this Cheryl/60s inspired backcombed pony tail in a slick hour – something which is incredibly rare with me and my notoriously tangly and long mane. I love that London finally has a New York style blow dry bar available, and the atmosphere in there was so friendly and fun that I will without a doubt be heading back. You can choose from a menu of hair styles, but of course you can always adapt the looks on offer to suit you. I had my hair done at 2pm and it was still in tact at 2am – impressive!

For makeup, one of my best friends Jackie (who also did my wedding makeup) whipped up a quick smokey eye for me using MAC carbon and a bronzed pigment, and I went for some Eylure lashes. I did my own base – a mixture of Girogio Armani Luminous Silk and By Terry Terrybly Densillis with a whole load of Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Candlelight everywhere. For lips, I’m currently going through a liner obsession and I used a mix of MAC Soar, Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk and a little dab of Dior Brun Samarcande lipstick to give them a really full and pouty effect.

For my outfit, I wore this Kardashian Kollection for Lipsy camisole dress which was so comfortable and beautifully fitted. I don’t usually shop in Lipsy so it was a surprise when I walked past it in a window a few days ago and fell in love with it. I teamed it with this Accessorize clutch (current) and my trusty Louboutins and some costume jewellery earrings of my mums and voila. A 1960s/Kardashian/Cheryl inspired black tie look without going full on ball gown.
