A few months ago, when my blog was just a newborn, I purchased Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in the shade SX8- warm yellow-y tone that works very well at neutralising any blemishes.
At first I used it solely as a heavy duty concealer for pesky spots and pigmentation that my light weight foundations and tinted moisturisers couldn’t conceal. However, recently I’ve been attempting to use it as more of a light-weight foundation. The consistency of the Sensual Skin Enhancer is daunting at first, very very dense, thick, gloopy and in the wrong hands *whispers it* cakey. I soon got to grips with only using the teeniest tiniest amount mixed in with a pea-sized amount of a moisturiser and ta-dah a truly amazing, flawless, high coverage foundation that doesn’t look heavy in the slightest. What’s even better is that I can mix and match the moisturiser I mix with it in order to give my skin the best possible benefits. Right now I’m using La Roche Posay Hydraohase UV intense legere spf 20 in order to give myself a light-weight non-greasy moisture boost as well as little sun protection. Similarly, dry skinned lades (and men!) can use it with a richer moisturser, and like magic you can watch as the dense and thick product mixes into a dewy and seamless foundation.
For £36 it ain’t cheap, but when it’s sooo multi-purpose it can almost, sort of be justified. If you wanted to pack very lightly for a weekend away, a pot of sensual skin enhancer and a tube of moisturiser would be all you need!
With 16 shades to choose from it’s not hard to find one to suit your skin tone and the lovely ladies at Space NK are very helpful at colour matching!
Have any of you tried Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin enhancer? If so please leave a comment.
Have a lovely Saturday!
