Sunday Skin

Ah Sunday – the day that for all intents and purposes is a true “day off”. Which begs the question, if you’re meant to be relaxing and enjoying the final hours of your weekend – and even if you’re out and about, shouldn’t it be a day off for your skin too? There’s something that just feels wrong about wearing a thick mask of foundation on a Sunday. Instead, I like to opt for something a little more nourishing and light reflective for my Sundays. Of course, if it were a Sunday where I was staying in doors the whole day then I’d have nothing on other than skincare, but if I’m venturing out I like to stick to products which act as both – makeup and skincare.

The Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint is a new addition to my base products and one which I’ve been really enjoying using. It has a slightly thicker coverage than most tinted moisturisers and leaves a beautifully dewy and glow enhancing finish that isn’t at all sweaty or greasy looking (the formula is actually oil free and boasts SPF 20!). I opted for this one instead of it’s Matte sister because I felt that the matte one is something I’d prefer to use in the Summer months, but for the Winter I want something that is going to give me a beachy glow. It’s the perfect Sunday ‘face’ as it covers imperfections whilst still showing you’re skin underneath, and it leaves your skin beautifully moisturised and nourished – ideal for the Arctic temperatures we’re being subjected to at the moment here in the UK. Available here from Cult Beauty.

Before popping on the tinted moisturiser, I find that just the smallest amount (pea sized) of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm popped onto the high points of the cheekbones, really helps to make them pop and allows the light to bounce off them even more. Sundays aren’t days for heavy contouring and facial sculpting, so instead use creamy products to bring out your best features. That leads me on to my final product – NARS Orgasm Illuminator, instead of blush simply suck in your cheeks and run a small amount of this up your cheekbones to create a “lit from within” glow that leaves a lovely rosy coloured pigment. You’ll look as fresh as a daisy – even if you’ve had a little too much fun the previous night!
