September Favourites

September has been one of the best months of the year in terms of beauty- for me at least. I was getting a little bored of my skincare routine, something about it just wan’t clicking for me anymore, so luckily September has seen some new products work their way into rotation and in terms of makeup I’ve found some real gems that I know are going to be used daily or nearly daily for the foreseeable future…

Astalift Gentle Makeup Remover Gel*: Japanese beauty brand Astalift are actually part of the Fuji Film group- crazy huh? Your camera and face cream come from the same place. The makeup remover cleansing gel is the first product from the brand that I’ve tried, and as I’m not a fan of using a gel cleanser in the evenings (it has to be a cream or a balm for me!) I use it in the mornings. A little odd to use a makeup remover in the morning, but I wouldn’t classify this as a ‘makeup remover’, and I actually think that the name doesn’t do the product any favours. What it is, is a gorgeous smelling cleansing gel that removes dirt, impurities and yes makeup, as well as rebalancing oil or clogged pores leaving skin radiant and illuminated, it smells amazing and the texture emulsifies into a light milky consistency. I love starting my day by brightening my skin and removing excess oil- a firm favourite.

Liz Earle Botanical Essence no15*: I mentioned this fragrance in Thursday’s post and I just can’t get enough of it. It is hands down my Autumn/Winter perfume of choice, and I’d absolutely love to own it in candle form too- sadly Liz Early don’t do one but if they did I would have them in every room of the house. The gorgeous woody and spicy notes that then give way to a soft jasmine make it an absolute treat to spritz on every day.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua B40: I first purchased this foundation last October and used it on and off until July when I finally ran out (the bottle is deceiving- it lasts forever). I repurchased it the other day and now don’t know what I’d do without it. It’s definitely one for the oily to combination skinned girls out there- beautiful medium coverage, velvetty finish, not cakey in the slightest and lasts hours and doesn’t give way to any shine. It’s pretty much my dream foundation, and I can’t think of anything else on the market to rival it. If you’re after a light, breathable flawless finish then look no further.

Urban Fudge Dry Shampoo*: I’ve finally found my favourite dry shampoo, it smells delicious, doesn’t come out white and gives unparalleled levels of volume. It’s actually made me cut down on washing my hair every day- as this actually makes my hair look better than when it’s freshly washed- a hair revelation!

MAC paint pot camel coat*: I mentioned this in Wednesday’s post so have a look there for a full review. It’s basically the most gorgeous neutral shade which is foolproof to apply and lasts on eyelids for hours. It works both as an eyeshadow base or on its own and I’ve been wearing it daily for the last two weeks.

Liz Earle Superskin concentrate*: The first face oil to ever make it into a monthly favourite’s post and for good reason. The superskin concentrate is not a dry oil- which I love, it leaves my skin feeling supple and nourished as well as rebalancing my complexion and actually funnily enough making it less oily overall! A superstar product that’s enriched with rosehip oil, argan oil, neroli oil and natural source vitamin e it is a super treat for your skin.

Now…let’s see what October brings 😉

Txx
