Plump it up- Nuxe Lipgloss The Review

Another week…another review of one of my City Pharma finds. City Pharma for those of you that don’t know, is the legendary Parisian pharmacy on Rue du Four which offers the best deals and discounts on an array of hard-to-get products, with brands including Embryolisse, Bioderma, La Roche Posay, Avene and Nuxe. This Nuxe lipgloss was the only item which I bought that wasn’t on my pre-planned list. I was scanning the Nuxe section when it caught my eye (Nuxe packaging has that effect on me). I glanced at the price…not bad, 13 euros- alright alright not super expensive, I don’t have to attempt to get my phone out and makeupalley it, in the basket it went. That’s about as much shopper consideration I could give it due to the sheer craziness in that heaven/hell on earth place.

Once outside I quickly tried it on, and my mum and sister’s first reactions? “Oh my god, I want one, let’s go back in, no wait, it’s horrible in there, aahhh but your lips look amazing. Fine, we’ll leave it, hmm can we borrow yours”. Literally. I glanced in a parked vespas mirror, and sure enough my lips looked pretty good!

The Nuxe Baume Prodigieux Lèvres in Légendaire Pink, or the nourishing protective care lip gloss effect SPF 15, is one of those rare things- both a gloss and a balm in one. It gives a sheen like a gloss, but there’s zero hair stickiness and it leaves lips feeling amazingly soft. The colour comes out pink at first, and then settles to a ‘your lips but better’ kind of tone with a hint of gloss…and the best part? It makes your lips look plumper. I can imagine living in this on the beach this Summer with the SPF, it sort of adds a little bit of polish without looking like serious lipgloss. It doesn’t tingle like most lip-plumping glosses, but I think the effect is mostly down to the gloss particles (or something scientific like that). Anyway, it works, it looks pretty and I can apply it on the go. The only downside? It disappears as soon as you eat, which is fine by me as I’m an avid lip product re-applier.

Luckily you don’t have to trek all the way to Paris to get hold of it as you can buy it in the UK from M&S beauty here or from Nuxe’s website here

Have a lovely Wednesday!
