Whilst back at my family home, perusing the remnants of my makeup collection which didn’t quite make the cut for the move I stumbled across one of my old MAC favourites, a favourite that I purchased around five times over, and there at the back of my stash was an almost brand new one – MAC’s Please Me. A cool, blue toned candy pink creamy matte lipstick with insane lasting power. It makes teeth look whiter, and eye makeup appear smokier. It’s so 1960s but also so current, and it’s totally different to my usual day to day glossy warm nudes that I revert to these days.
I remember buying this lipstick after I read in an interview that Alexa Chung swore by NARS ‘Roman Holiday’, after trying it out and deeming it a bit too baby pink for me, I picked up the MAC one as it was similar enough, but better suited to my skin tone – and it looked killer paired with a feline flick. Well I may not be seventeen anymore, but I sure am glad to have rediscovered it. I’ll be turning to this as a substitute for my usual nudes, and who knows – maybe this has revived my love for MAC lipsticks. I swatched Fanfare and Peach Blossom the other day and it’s safe to say that they’ve been added to the wish list…watch this space!
Too funny, the way you’ve worn down that lipstick into as sharo point!! LOL. Good on you being reunited with an old favourite.
You had me at “candy pink”.
