October Favourites

So that’s it…I’ll have to wait a whole year to see my favourite month once again. October has been filled with some amazing blogging and press events, my 3 year anniversary of being with my boyfriend, Halloween and lots of fun shoots with Emma from EJ Style as well as an epic trip to Disneyland Paris-phew! What a month, the weather has also been beautiful (let’s forget about last weeks storm hey?) and mild and Autumn clothes are in full swing. I’ve been loving quite a few products this month, most new but some have been rediscovered, I also have a fashion favourite added into the mix to spice things up a bit!

Phyto Clarifying Detox Shampoo: I mentioned this shampoo in my French girl Lazy girl hair post. A little goes a long way, leaving hair super clean, fresh, light and totally rid of any grease, dirt and product build up. I use this once a week and see an instant difference in how my hair feels fresher and stays that way for longer. A total must have.

Butter London Tramp Stamp: This polish has been on my nails pretty much for the entirety of the month! Nothing beats this chic maroon hue. In certain lights it looks like a deep plum, in others like Galaxy chocolate and in others almost mink. It goes with absolutely everything and wear time is incredible. My first but certainly not my last foray into the world of Butter London polishes.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer: I don’t know how I’ve only just discovered this gem! For under a fiver it’s better than most high end concealers. It is great for under the eyes and to conceal blemishes, full coverage without caking and drying. It works wonders!

Revlon Lip Butter Macaroon: I’ve been a fan of lip Butters for a while but this shade is my new AW13 favourite. It works well on it’s own or with a full face of makeup. It gives a punch of colour without looking OTT. Perfect for those of you who shy away from bolder lips but have always been intrigued to dabble!

Smashbox Always Sharp Violetta: Around 8 months ago I stopped wearing black eyeliner every day. Having hazel coloured eyes that can look almost yellowy green in some lights meant that whilst black always made a statement, it made my eyes look more brown. Using a brown or plum coloured eye pencil brings out the colour much better and looks subtler for a day to day look. This eyeliner is brilliant because it is waterproof so doesn’t smudge and stays all day, the colour is also deep enough to frame the eyes whilst also intensifying the hazel shade. I also love the cool twisty lid which keeps the pencil always sharp, keeping my makeup seamless. I adore it!

Clinique Chubby Stick Eyes Whopping Willow: This gorgeous burnished gold/khaki colour is stunning for Autumn and again really brings out my eye colour. It’s foolproof as well- no need for fancy brushes, just smudge on and go. Perfect!

Zara Biker Boots: I’ve been wearing biker boots for nearly 8 years now without fail but I always love to buy a new pair every other year to spruce things up. This year’s pair are from Zara (still available) and are uber comfortable as well as adding a bit of an edge to outfits. Wear with skinny jeans and a faux fur gilet for weekend cool or pair with a skirt and chunky knit for a weekday edge. I’ve barely taken them off this month so they definitely deserve a spot in my favourites.
