Makeup Diaries- Gunmetal & Nude

I haven’t done a ‘makeup diaries’ style post in a while and yesterday I used some lovely new products which made my skin feel very glowy. Considering it’s a) December and b) only 5 weeks or so after my worst skin phase ever I thought it was worth sharing these products. As mentioned on Monday’s post, I used Nars Sheer Glow Foundation to achieve an all over glow as well as covering up my nasty scars (an unpleasant remnant of my bad skin Autumn) it is perfect. I have a yellow toned shade which is absolutely ideal, it also gives my skin a bit of life (my face is naturally a lot paler than the rest of me, so this foundation evens things out a little). I then added my beloved concealer duo – Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection and their illuminating one to really brighten my under eyes and conceal any dark shadows. I then used my trusty Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer to help further conceal any marks or ‘ghosts of spots past’ scars. Three concealers seems a little excessive but I don’t know what I’d do without these babies – they literally leave my skin feeling totally flawless.

I used this gorgeous L’Oreal Smokey Eye palette, choosing the second lightest shade – a lovely gunmental colour which felt festive yet also brightened  up my eyes. I gave eyes a simple mini feline flick with my black Rimmel Liquid Liner and then coated my lashes in Maybelline The Mega Plush Volume Express mascara – a contender for my new favourite mascara ever! Brows were taken care of by Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara which gave my fine silky brows some texture and definition – perfect for those who want a little drama without looking like a Desperate Scousewives cast member. I gave my cheeks a tawny peach flush with Maybelline Dream Touch Blush Berry 06 which is almost like a mousse consistency and stays on for hours. The colour really reminds me of one of the Chanel new cream blushes as well, so well worth a look at! My lips were left Brigitte Bardot esque nude with this Kiko High Shine lipstick. To complete the whole look I dusted a little Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow down the middle of my face to mattify and leave an airbrushed (and pore minimising) effect, and I kept it with me in my makeup bag to touch up throughout the day. There you have it, a super simple makeup look that made me feel bright eyed and bushy tailed despite me feeling a little run down.
