Whilst perusing the daily images of the rich and famous sauntering around the croisette one in particular image struck me. Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s Make up at the AMFAR gala dinner at the Eden Roc. A subtle smokey look which can be easily recreated- even if you’re not a makeup pro!
First start off with a bronze neutral base like Maybelline Colour Tattoo On and On the Bronze and wash it all over the lid. Next take a silvery gold neutral like this L’Oreal Infallible Flashbak Silver to add depth and smudge from the outer corners outwards and upwards. Then take a smudgey black like L’Oreal Infallible in Eternal Black and run it with your little finger right on the outer corners and outwards and upwards. Then take a q-tip and neaten up the outer corners until you create a smudgey cat-eye flick, then take a little of the black shadow and run it very lightly under the lash line and neaten up to make sure it’s a clean line. Next take an eyeliner like this Daniel Sandler one starting halfway towards the outer corner and line the waterline to create a dramatic eye look without making your eyes appear smaller, and then take the same eyeliner and trace the cat-eye flick that you created with the shadow to add depth and definition. The final step is to apply a little of the silver colour and highlight your brow bone and then build up your lashes using L’Oreal telescopic mascara and you are done! A simple sexy smokey eye a la Rosie.
