Guerlain- the luxury palette.

I’m budget beauty’s no.1 fan. I have the release date of Bourjois Cream Blushes in my iphone, and I own nearly every colour of the Barry M Gelly hi-shine nail polishes, but sometimes…sometimes you want a little luxury in your make up bag. I hardly ever treat myself to luxury make up (although I’m guilty of shamelessly chasing down Chanel Les Beiges healthy glow) so this gorgeous Guerlain eye palette was actually a Christmas stocking filler. Father Christmas sure has good taste in makeup doesn’t he?

I used the palette religiously until March and then sort of forgot about it, until yesterday when I saw Into The Gloss post with Georgia May Jagger, wearing the most lust-worthy eye shadow like everrr. RMS cream eyeshadow in Solar. I needed that gold, but alas it was nowhere to be seen here in the UK, and even the beauty sites across the pond were out of stock. That was when a little lightbulb flickered on, I dug out my Guerlain palette and sure enough the gold was eerily similar, a coat of clear lip balm over it and it was practically the same thing. And then I started to remember how I loved wearing the other shades, the deep moody pink, the cool and dark bronze, the warm berry. This palette is genius, I thought.

The colours blend together to give you a foolproof smokey eye, or can be worn alone for that Clemence Poesy, paired down cool chick no-eye-make-up make-up look. The palette is now back into my rotation, and I’ll be wearing my DIY ‘RMS Solar’ today in this glorious sunshine. Not only are the colours gorgeous, but you just feel one part Beyonce, two part chic girl whipping out the compact to check your lipstick in the mirror. Everyone loves a glam compact, whether you’re three or eighty-three.

Have a lovely week, and don’t beat yourself up for treating yourself to a little luxury now and then- it’s worth it!
