Birthday Beauty

This Sunday is my 23rd birthday, I’m starting celebrations early tonight by going to see Matilda with my family (my favourite growing up) and then having a dinner tomorrow  night with lots of friends. On Sunday I’ll be having a very relaxed day with lots of family and friends round eating lots and lots of cake. As birthdays only come around once a year, I thought I’d go a little all out on the beauty front and indulge in a bright lip and extra big hair – after all, birthdays are a time to bring out your inner Beyonce right?

Nuxe Prodigieuse Oil: On my limbs for Saturday night, I love this oil for banishing any dry patches and leaving a gorgeous Victoria’s Secret esque gleam. It smells divine – I even bought the  perfume of the scent in a French pharmacy a few years ago, I can’t get enough of Nuxe and their amazing trademark scent.

Phyto Volume: When it comes to adding a little extra oomph, I look no further than Phyto for their intense volume spray, whilst it may come out a little wet, it adds instant bounce and volume – perfect for Saturday night.

Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector: this will be used as my makeup base to give a lovely glow ‘lit from within’ look. This stuff photographs really well and magically gets rid of any redness and smooths out overly large pores.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation: Seeing as there will likely be a lot of instagramming, I need an SPF free foundation to stay away from the dreaded “ghost of flashback past” look. This foundation is ideal, it leaves an amazing flawless dewy finish without looking greasy or oily. It is a touch darker than my current skin tone (anyone else find that they get extra ghostly in January?) which is perfect for the backdrop for the rest of my makeup.

Seche Vite Delicate: Because it’s my birthday, Spring is on the horizon (kinda, sorta) and I want to give myself a pale Barbie pink manicure for the weekend. It is also perhaps one of the best nail polish formulas I’ve ever come across, supersonic drying time and amazing shellac esque finish.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush Charm: For a wash of colour that wont budge all night, this blush is the best. It warms up my complexion and adds just the right amount of shimmer. J’adore.

Rimmel Colourburst Matte Balm Standout: This lip colour is just incredible, somewhere between cherry and berry, lips look amazing in this shade. The formula is dinner and drink proof and doesn’t cling to any dry patches on the lips. Reapplication isn’t necessary but if you have to it is really easy and glides on, unlike other stains which tend to go gloopy and dry with too many layers. The soft balm texture is also rather hydrating, the perfect bold lip choice for a Winter’s night out!
