A Glow Inducing Foundation For Acne and Sensitive Skin

When I say makeup for acne is your first response to think of a mattifying product? I know that’s my initial thought – acne is caused my excessive sebum production which is means that your skin is oily and so therefore to tackle that a mattifying foundation and/or powder is required. Whilst I’m a huge fan of a matte foundation I’ve recently come across a dewier foundation specifically for acneic and sensitive skin.

Oxygenetix Breathable Foundation was originally designed to be used on people following surgery or harsh facial treatments in order to minimise redness and calm the skin, it’s main ingredient is ‘Ceravitae’ – this innovative treatment formula optimises skin cell oxygenation, to encourage cells’ repair and renewal processes, diminish scarring, combat dehydration, reduce redness and to create a healthy and balanced skin tone. This is ideal for those suffering from acne or on the acne busting drug Roaccutane as it is incredibly gentle and calming. However, the main draw for me has been the incredible finish – this foundation is luminously glowy without being greasy or too dewy, it leaves skin looking healthty and even and doesn’t need an oil controlling powder on top as it doesn’t get greasy throughout the day. The one downside is the fact that it doesn’t contain SPF – if it did it would without a doubt be my dream foundation. So I’ve been mixing a little of my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua with it on days where I’m not wearing a separate SPF under my foundation.

I wore this recently on a three hour flight – something which I never usually do as I’ll always remove my foundation even on very short haul flights – and it kept my skin hydrated and didn’t become patchy or uneven!

All in all, if you have acne prone or simply sensitive skin but don’t want to go down the matte route then this is without doubt for you.
