YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint Foundation

As someone who struggles with their skin, I tend to not get on with most foundations. They’ve always been a necessary evil to me – necessary to cover up my blemishes and scarring, but evil as the wrong formula can make my break outs so much worse/cause my skin to turn into a greaseball/leave it flakey and patchy. However, when I’m fortunate enough to happen upon a great – no – freaking awesome foundation I like to do a whole post dedicated to it to rave until the cows come home.

It was at the Debenhams Beauty Press Day that I first met the new YSL Touche Eclat foundation – newly reformulated with extra goodness and hydration – I’m embarrassed to say that I hadn’t actually tried any YSL Beauté products prior to this. The makeup artist applied a bit of product on top of what I was already wearing and then decanted a weeks worth in a sample pot for me to use at home. The next day as I was applying it in my mirror I actually said “wow” aloud (despite the fact that I was totally on my own). The feel, texture and finish was just unbelievable. It feels like cashmere. Not velvet, not satin but cashmere. It glides on to the skin smoothly and works wonderfully when applied with both brush and fingers, one pump goes a long way and covers my blemishes and dark patches as well as imparting a lit from within glow. It doesn’t make me look greasy, nor does it feel to matte and cakey. It just makes me skin look and feel amazing.

I’ve been using it religiously and highly doubt that I’ll be straying to another foundation for a long while – I would say that as I have super oily skin it would be preferable to use a light dusting of powder on my t-zone to set it, but as I don’t like clogging my skin with product, I instead let it be and then use an oil blotting paper around 4pm just to take away excess shine. I’m the shade BD30 which is the perfect tone for me and my skin – they have a huge variety of shades so I’d highly recommend checking them out!

You wont be disappointed!

What is the polish you are wearing in the above post? It’s beautiful. 🙂
