Winter Dressing

If you’re anything like me you will hate Winter dressing. You have to bundle up and hide away any nice outfit details, your hair gets all knotted at the back from said layers and you’re forever feeling too warm and too cold. January through mid-March always feel like such a bleurgh time for outfits and for me as a blogger for documenting my lewks. I feel like all the lewks lewk the same and things get repetitive. This year though I’ve decided to make a few small changes to my usual all black Winter attire and add pops of different tones and textures in. For one I’ve decided to keep my use of skinny jeans to a minimum and instead embrace straight leg/girlfriend/mom jeans more worn with ankle boots and tucking jumpers in. The other day I paired that exact outfit including this gorgeous find a jumper from Bimba y Lola with a big pair of gold hoops and felt refreshed rather than drab and samey. I also added my latest boot obsession – these little pointed black leather ankle boots from & Other Stories here.

Gold hoops are having a big moment right now with cool girls everywhere wearing them, my barometer for cool is mainly whatever they style the models on The Reformation site, and right now it’s undone messy hair, stained lips and gold hoops. Luckily I’ve always loved a hoop, and their ability to add a touch of dimension and Summer in zero degrees amazes me.

I’m dedicating the next week to posts on how to mix up Winter style and keep it exciting so you don’t – like me every single day until the end of March – moan about always feeling and looking the same in the bitter cold of Winter!
