I can’t believe that it’s been nearly a whole week since I uploaded a post! There’s a very good reason for that though, because I’ve been doing Vlogmas on my YouTube channel! A new video daily from the 1st-24th December.I’ve been really enjoying sharing my days with you all and I really feel a new inspiration and excitement for my YouTube channel, something that I’ve shied away from the past few months whilst focusing on my fashion blogging/ instagram and creative consulting work.
I’ve often struggled with not being as super chirpy as other vloggers and thought maybe me and my sense of humour was somewhat lost on camera – I didn’t feel like my videos resembled who I was as a person, however, I’m really happy with vlogmas so far as I feel like I’ve let a wall down and started to get more and more used to being on camera, I kind of just let who I am when I’m with my close family and friends come through and I hope that it comes across! One of the main reasons why I also stopped making videos is that I found that I wasn’t watching them anymore, I find many tutorials and favourites videos very samey and so felt uninspired to make that content myself – vlogs however I’ve always loved and can devour them on Sundays spent lounging on the sofa – they’re my ultimate guilty (or not so guilty) pleasure (along with chicken nuggets of course).
My day to day life is always changing, I spend so much time with my family so expect to see more of them, eating lots of food, struggling with my Russian homework, always wearing the same god damned lip liner (apologies in advance for seeing the same thing on my lips for 24 days) and I also spend the time (where I can) devouring articles on international relations, foreign policy and counter terrorism when I’m commuting. I’ve not filmed much of that side to me as when I first started my blog back in 2011 on Tumblr I received negative feedback for mixing my love for politics with fashion and beauty. I agree, in a way mixing such differing topics doesn’t go down too well and I feel like politics and opinions are so deeply personal that I would never want to cause controversy by discussing my own views. So for now I’m keeping side to a minimum and showing my daily highlights and lols!
I hope you’ll continue to watch and enjoy this journey for me, after which I’ll be looking forward to a week of no makeup and lots of yummy festive food and family time! Apologies for the colloquial tone of this post I just felt like a catch up 🙂

I for one appreciate the sincere tone of this post. Not everyone wants to see squealing, howling youtubers (in fact I have cut the worst squealer right off my list, I don’t need that noise in my head when I’m relaxing LOL) so I look forward to your videos! I love your style posts on Instagram, but I have also always appreciated your beauty content, because I felt that it was sincere. I’m off to check out vlogmas!
Hi Tijan! I’m a bit late to the party on this post but I just wanted to say, don’t worry about not being the most “chirpy” vlogger – as much as I love those Youtubers, I think viewers like me (early twenties and beyond) also appreciate the mature and sophisticated tone of your content. 🙂

I absolutely love your vlogmas videos, I’ve watched all of them so far and they are one of my fav! And the fact that you’re not as chirpy, bubbly and squealy (is that a word, no clue) as other vloggers is actually a thing I like. You seem to be very natural and authentic which is much better than being fake-hyperpositive and over-excited about basically anything (like some of the other youtubers). Your vlogmas always puts me in a good and christmasy mood 🙂
