My teenage years of rimming my eyes with black kohl – no eyeshadow, just a thick and wobbly line right up into my water line, kind of scarred me off under eye eyeliner for a while. That was until last week whilst in a hotel room in Germany perusing photos of Patti Hansen. Wow did she rock an amazingly lined eye! It got me thinking about introducing under eye eyeliner back into my makeup wardrobe.
You can go for pure black for evenings out, or for a more subdued take on the trend, do as I did and just ramp up your daily amount to a soft line just on your lash line. I used my favourite eyeliner – Charlotte Tilbury Rock n Kohl Liquid Pencil Barbarella Brown and just built it up to create a Patti esque look. It’s such a creamy pigmented formula and work s perfectly for a neatly lined look, or smudged out to be a little more rock’n’roll.

I love this look! It has been my staple since my late teens 🙂 I know they say it narrows the eyes, but for me, it makes me look awake. I have tried the nude liner, and I just look sick! Way to go underliner!
