Ooh it’s getting a bit nippy out there isn’t it? It’s starting to really feel like Autumn is settling in! Whilst I’ve done a whole video on the broad beauty and fashion swaps I do, I didn’t mention eyeshadow changes.
Over the last few Autumn’s I’ve accumulated my fair share of berry and mauve shadows to give my every day Autumnal look a bit of “oomph”. Here are my favourites. The Sisley shadow in Burgundy is incredibly flattering, either used as an all over colour for a smouldering every day look or just used in the crease to smoke out for an evening look, it’s stunning and the quality is divine. I find that it lasts all day on my lids without the need for an eyeshadow primer. Best for – days or evenings when you want a bit of luxe and a sultry Autumnal look.
The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pomegranate gives a slightly more red-ish tinge, but it’s still got a berry undertone which is slightly more metallic in finish than the Sisley. However, it’s cheap as chips and lasts all night on the lids. Best for – Fresher’s week parties or big nights out in general!
Chanel Illusion D’ombre in Fatal is an odd one as I first fell in love with it in the Summer, and yet it has such a gorgeous Autumnal feel to it. This is the ultimate in understated sophistication, but still has just the right amount of sparkle. Best for – A sophisticated dinner.
I picked up this NYC palette in Duane Reid in New York last Spring. The shades are all incredibly Autumnal and I love that it has an eyeshadow primer and illuminator as part of the palette – it’s also incredibly reasonably priced. Best for – Day to day wear!
Over all I’d recommend all of these shadows for those looking to spruce up their every day makeup look to fit in with the chillier weather coming our way!
