After a tumultuous few years of beauty blogging and skincare testing it’s fair to say that I have found some really amazing products along the way. However, recently I’ve fallen back into the exact same skincare routine that I had in early 2013, and my skin has never looked better since….well since early 2013. For now this routine works a treat for me and it’s nearly all entirely La Roche Posay. However, the two products that I would call the original HG skincare saviours are the ones that were in my initial routine, one is Effaclar Duo +, a product that was so fashionable two years ago only to be shunned recently.
I notice my skin is more matte, breakouts are less frequent and over all the quality of my skin has improved since starting to use this again am and pm (under a light moisturiser). I love how my skin feels after I’ve applied and the clean fragrance smells nostalgic to me now. The other product is the only none LRP one in my routine, and again it’s an original love – the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner. In fact, I reviewed it as one of my first ever blog posts!
I use this every evening and it helps to diminish break outs, tone nourish and leave my skin feeling, well gently exfoliated! I love how fresh and soft my skin feels after I’ve swiped a cotton disc full of the stuff over my freshly cleansed skin, and I love how well product sinks in after. I think I would have benefitted using it in the run up to my wedding immensely, this is definitely one for those who want their skin to look good in a short amount of time – in 10 days it’s transformed my dry but oily and super spotty skin into a smooth canvas. I’ve found my needs for foundation have become less and less since being happy with my routine and now I only dust on some SPF and concealer for day to day!
I’ll have to try these two. I learned about La Roche Posey from watching Amelia I believe and love that brand!! Everything I try makes my skin look clean and amazing without any fuss…Also thankful that they sell it here in the States without the price being hiked up too much
Ooh I’ve never tried the Clarins exfoliant but I love most things from La Roche Posay! I recently rifled through my mother’s bathroom cupboard and borrowed their cleansing milk. I’m used to cleansing with balms and oils so this should be quite different and interesting 🙂
