It’s grey and it’s Monday which means that this morning we’ll all be reaching for the foundations and concealers that can cover up the weekends sins (too much chocolate, alcohol, vegetating in front of the tv- please circle correct one), however if our skin is a little blotchy/dehydrated/spotty then any make-up is just going to sort of sit atop and not look that great. So today’s post is a little combination of magic creams that change my complexion immediately! They may not be the cheapest, but they actually deliver amazing results due to good quality ingredients and the right amount of scientific savviness.
First up is a little pot from Algenist a San Francisco biotech brand that fuses science with natural ingredients. This pot of Multi Perfecting Pore Corrector Gel Moisturizer may be a bit of a mouthful to say, but it promises to correct skin using hydrating gel which visible reduces the appearance of enlarged pores. The formula is oil free and has a little Salicylic Acid which “locks moisture and smooths away roughness”. After using for a few days, I can vouch that my makeup goes on a lot smoother after use and my pores are looking a little tighter. A lovely day cream to use for oily skin girls and boys that actually hydrates and does some cool science-y stuff whilst its at it!
The next cream is one that I spoke about this yesterday in my Sunday Catch Up . I received this in the Space NK gift with purchase goodie bag and finding it to be an absolute little tube of radiant-skin-goodness.
According to Jurlique’s website it is “a high performance, nourishing antioxidant overnight cream, rich in powerful botanical extracts to help minimise the appearance of fine lines while helping to increase skin elasticity, hydration and restoring smoothness.” I found it to be particularly good at evening out any blotchiness to my complexion and stopping any blemishes in their tracks. A lovely little juicy cream that actually works overnight. I personally find my skin a little plumper (in the right way!) and more ‘awake’ looking the next morning. A perfect cream to slap on a Sunday night, ready to wake up with a lovely glowing complexion on a Monday morning!
