Sunday Stuff #30

Optimized-sundaystuff30

With September in full swing, I thought I’d cook up a little Sunday Stuff post dedicated to some products that I neglected over the hotter months. However, now that the temperatures are slightly cooler and the sun only surfaces for around an hour or so every day amidst a sea of clouds, I thought it time to bring these bad boys back into the daily rotation.

Elizabeth and James Black Nirvana I bought this fragrance at the worst possible time – May. And I spent the whole Summer wishing i had bought the light, sexy, floral White Nirvana instead. However now that things are getting more Autumnal, this fragrance is the ultimate in evening smokey sexiness. I love piling it on over a slightly sweeter perfume to create my own unique blend (I sound like a coffee ad right about now).

Sunday Riley Good Genes This had less to do about the weather and more to do with the fact that I ran out, and it’s expensive shizz that I thought I could get away without repurchasing. I. Was. Wrong. I am now on day three of having it back in my life (note I didn’t actually rebuy just yet, just stole my mums half used one – oops) and oh my word, my skin in instantly smoother, softer, my dark marks from a Summer break out are lightening and over all my skin feels  more toned and blemish free. It really is the ultimate HG skincare product for me. I plan on using it every evening from now until my wedding.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick Rose This shade is just so stunning and is the ultimate Autumn/Winter lip. It’s like the perfect seasonal nude with a hint of a red/berry undertone. It’s such a gorgeous rose hue that I find it works best with just a flick of eyeliner and lashings of mascara. The formula is pretty epic too, meaning that you don’t need to constantly reapply – even after a full Italian meal. True story.

Topshop Nail Polish Rose Petal There’s a bit of a rosey theme going on isn’t there? This polish is the perfect transitional seasonal shade, it’s not quite as dark as I’d usually go for Autumn Winter, and it’s not quite as punchy as a Summer shade. It’s just a sultry rose that looks ultra flattering on.

Rimmel Stay Matte This has been lost in the depths of my ‘face makeup drawer’ for a while. As in the warmer months I prefer using Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow as it has an SPF 15. Stay Matte is the last word in “day to night” makeup, especially now that work/meetings/events/school/wedding planning is in mega full swing. As long as I have it on hand, I can be certain that my makeup will see me through from 9am to 9pm with no shininess whatsoever. Win.

Overall I’m loving rediscovering some old favourites and I’m going to enjoy being as Autumnal as possible until my tropical Honeymoon in 4 weeks time!

I’m so happy we are slowly edging our way into Autumn! I bought one of the Hourglass Liquid Lipsticks back in March but didn’t find the formula worked very well on me. You’ve inspired me to bring it back out and give it another go!
