Rough with the smooth. Hold the rough.

I’m a tongaholic. Is there such a thing? I tong my hair daily, I’ve got it down to under 5 minutes. I grab large sections of my hair, twizzle them round and voila- loose glamorous waves. I hardly ever wear my hair straight, but the other evening I felt like a change. I washed my hair using my current faves- John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and then followed with a hair mask which I picked up from Zest pharmacy in Broadwick Street. I highly recommend that anyone with a penchant for beauty or french pharmacy skincare head on down to pick up some treats. I was in a bit of a rush so only picked up this Macadamian oil deep repair hair masque which also contains algae and chamomile extract as well as argan oil to deeply nourish and replenish lacklustre locks for £3.45 which comes in a large sachet. I’ve only used it once but the results are immediate as my hair instantly felt thicker, glossier and healthier without at all feeling heavy. I used a generous amount and there are at least another three or four treatments worth of product left in the sachet so not bad value for money at all.

The instructions say to leave on for seven minutes and then rinse out, I don’t have a watch or phone with me in the shower (funnily enough) so I waited for what felt like ages, combed through with my tangle teezer and then rinsed out. I then followed with a few generous squeezes of Bumble and Bumble straightening cream. And oh my god- does that stuff smell amazing or what? I went a little over zealous and probably put far too  much product in my hair but hey ho! I then rough dried my hair and was left with shampoo advert worthy tresses. Seriously. Thick, glossy and gorgeous, my hair looked and felt amazing. Even better, the following day it still looked just as sleek and straight. This is definitely a hybrid of products that ‘bring it’ when it comes to wanting luxurious sleek tresses.

I’m now going to incorporate ‘straight and natural’ hair days into my routine, once a week I’m going to give my hair a break from the tongs and wear it straight and that’s not just because I adore the smell of the Bumble straightening cream…promise!
