Pre-Travel Rituals

Even if I’m only going away for the day (as I often do to Paris – I’m actually in Paris right this second as you read this), I still like to plan in advance and make a little travel plan. The night before I like to do a face mask, and currently my favourite is the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin which I rambled on about on Sunday, I like feeling totally fresh for the morning of said travelling so makeup goes on smoothly and soundly. I then like to pack my makeup bag, to ensure minimal fuss I like to take a palette with me that contains most of what I’ll need plus a large mirror, this Chantecaille one is stunning and has gorgeous eyeshadow shades and it boasts a handy mirror.

I dutifully check ahead on BBC weather, my iphone and metcheck to ensure that I have packed/will wear the right thing and then do a little check list on my laptop to make sure I don’t forget the obvious – keys, foreign currency, selfie stick, lip balm, phone, passport!!! tickets etc and I tick these things off one by one as I pop them into my bag, this minimises stress the next day. Whilst I love reading Vogue, full sized magazines just aren’t necessary – instead I’ll pick up a travel size copy of Elle at the station/airport and/or pop my kindle in my bag (I’m a kindle addict).
