Pre-Holiday Prep

As you read this I will either be on a plane or already in Mykonos Greece, but todays post is all about getting beach ready.

Before even packing my bags I have to get myself in the holiday mindset by doing a number of beauty related things, one of the newest additions is having a shellac gel manicure to ensure that my nails are chip-free and glossy for the duration of my holiday. Now there are a few formulas which hardly chip at all such as Maybelline Forever Strong, Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine and Rimmel Salon Pro Lycra, but nothing beats a professional Shellac. The colour I’ve chosen for this holiday is called Tropics, a gorgeous orange toned pink which will go with everything.

Next up, in anticipation for a long flight where the recycled air can wreak havoc with my skin, I like to prep with an extra moisture boosting face mask which are also perfect for using mid holiday to replenish and nourish skin that has had a little too much sun exposure. Here are a few of that I’ll be taking with me…the SKII one is particularly fun as it is a sheet mask, a lovely pre- or post flight treat for dry and dehydrated skin. I’m yet to try the Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus Moisturising Cream Mask* but am very much looking forward to doing so and the Origins Drink Up has been a firm favourite for a while now.

Finally getting your body beach ready can be a little bit of a tough one, the ever painful waxing will last longer than shaving and then of course for those who want a truly perfect finish there’s always something which I’ve always wanted to do but not got round to committing to yet- laser hair removal* although it is next on my list of beauty treatments to try. Once all the hairy business is taken care of (quite literally) then a little pre-holiday tan can really give a healthy glow. I’m really excited to try He-Shi Express Liquid Tan* which promises instant non streak results, and I’ve heard whispers that it doesn’t have the dreaded fake tan smell- result!

That’s me fully beach prepped and ready, get ready for an onslaught of holiday posts. Holiday hair, what’s in my beach bag and much much more coming up!

Lots of love
