I’ve been opting for a stripped back approach to beauty as of late, I’m kind of having an epiphany that maybe Kim Kardashian’s overly contoured look (whilst gorgeous) isn’t really me anymore, and instead I’m opting to go back to my slightly more relaxed beauty vibes.
I’ve never used a million products, but over the past few months I’ve been becoming increasingly obsessed with super smokey eyes, a love affair that I feel has run its course. Right now I’m loving a simple bit of mascara, maybe some liner and a little nude shadow from my Lorac palette, a tiny bit of blush and brow product and something on the lips. For evenings I’ll do more of a cat eye and add some highlighter under my eyes (Kevyn Aucoin – obvs) and that’s that. I’m really enjoying my fresher look and feel that it complements my fashion sense more. I also have a new natural looking foundation love – but that deserves a whole post of its own – coming your way on Monday so stay tuned!
In other news, I’ve finally ridden my nails of the dark Autumnal/Christmas hues and have opted to go back to Burberry’s nail cover in Rose Pink 400 as it’s just the prettiest nude.
What are some of your new year beauty overhauls?
That nail colour looks incredible! I too have been choosing more nude shades for my nails after all the reds around Christmas time. I’ve been going for more mascara and less liner for a fresher look.
