Maybelline Super Stay 24 hr Waterproof Powder- The Review

It’s only been in the last 8 months or so that I’ve really got into powders and seen them as a friend and not an enemy. I’ve been a loyal fan of both Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powder and Rimmel Stay Matte since introducing these mattifying tools into my arsenal and both offer a similar finish. A matified look sans cakiness and the promise to keep makeup firmly in place (my foundation vanishes faster than anything). So when Maybelline asked if I’d like to try their latest powder *Superstay 24hr Waterproof I was incredibly excited. Now the colour range isn’t fantastic with only 4 shades to choose from, but that seems to be the way with powders in general. I chose the second from darkest shade Sand and it’s a perfect match- maybe even a tad lighter than my skintone, which is (for me) what I look for in a powder as I want something that’s going to lift my complexion, not act like a bronzer. It’s so finely milled that it doesn’t cake the face in the slightest and I like to swish it on my t zone, nose, under my eyes to set concealer and a little bit on my jawline for a really finished flawless look.

Now this is the first waterproof powder I’ve tried, or heard of for that matter, and this is because of the hydrophobic formula with acts as a barrier and repels water, sweat, heat and humidity, which makes this product perfect for nights out dancing when you makeup has that nifty and annoying habbit of seriously ditching you. I’ve tested on two nights out and one day and am happy to report back that everything stayed beautifully in place and with my notoriously combination skin and shiney t-zone there was not one hint of sheen and it wasn’t a hassle to remove with my usual Bioderma. I’m smitten with this product, and can’t believe how the formula and weightless feel of the product is as good if not better than my beloved Chanel powder which is over 5 times the price.

The Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Waterproof Powder will be out in stores any day now for the RRP of £6.99- bargain and perfect for the festive party season about to hit us!

Does it give the skin the same sort of ‘glow’ as the Chanel? I have quite dull looking skin and I’m always looking for products to give me a bit of radiance x

It leaves a matt, flawless and healthy finish!
Maybe you need more of an illuminating product though like a highlighter?

      Tx
