To say my life is busy at the moment would be an understatement – I feel the pressure more than ever to be productive every waking moment and at the same time I want to enjoy looking and feeling my best. Good quality skincare has taken the forefront of my routine, I think 2018 and 2019 are the years where I truly got into proper ingredients and took my skincare to the next level and my skin is reaping the rewards. I’ve been a fan of Elemis for years – being a devout user of their Pro Colagen Hydra-Gel Eye Maks and their Japanese Camelia Body Oil which I slathered over my bump religiously in pregnancy (and post partum to help everything go back in). I also love their House of Elemis space – if you are pregnant or have a pregnant close friend book them/yourself in for their pregnancy massage ASAP – it is out of this world amazing! So I was excited by their new Elemis Peptide 24/7 range which has been devised with busy women (and men) in mind to bring products that are as time efficient as they are effective.
What I love about the new range is that it works in sync with the skin’s natural processes – essentially second guessing what the skin will need before it needs it. Mid day excess oil? Sorted with the Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream that acts like a barrier waging war on the mid day sheen and adapts to your skins needs throughout its daily cycle. Dry skin that feels like its eaten the foundation? Sorted. You only need a small amount to cover your whole face and it works beautifully under makeup – like a moisturising primer. As a mother I have less time than ever to spend on my makeup so I need to be damned sure that my skin looks good so that my makeup routine can be as effective as possible.
Ditto my evening skincare routine – I don’t have the time to faff with twelve different products every evening as I’m usually exhausted after the supper/bath/bed routine and ready to face plant into a bowl of pho and binge watch some Netflix, having products that are easy to apply and do the hard work so that I don’t have to are more important to me than ever. The Peptide4 Plumping Pillow Facial not only has an excellent name but also works hard to plump, replenish and hydrate the skin overnight. I love using an overnight mask as I feel it really seals in hydration even better than your standard cream – this is a gorgeous gel consistency that sinks in easily to your skin without excess greasiness – come morning you still have hydrated and supple skin as opposed to dried out pillow face which is all too common.
