Due to a morning spent obsessing over Lisa Eldridge video tutorials I probably went a little more heavy handed than expected with my makeup for a trip to the zoo to celebrate my little brother’s 7th birthday. I posted a photo on Instagram and a few of you seemed to like it so I thought I’d make it into a fully fledged post.
I kept my base simple with a mix of Bourjois Bronzing Primer and Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and then went in under the eyes with my Creme De La Mer concealer and around any blemishes with Sheer Cover UK concealer trio, I used the highlighter on my brow and cheek bones to illuminate. I kept eyes simple with just some Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr in the shade On and On the Bronze, and went over the outer corners with extra product to create a subtle smoked out effect. To line the lid I used Daniel Sandler Waterproof Liner in Brown Velvet and I coated the lashes in L’Oreal telescopic false lash mascara. Cheeks were made dewy and pink using Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in Charm and eyebrows were defined using Suqqu eyebrow pen. Lips were kept natural with just a hint of pink using Mavala Lipstick Natural Pink. And that was it! Tones of bronze, brown, taupe and pink to create an every day smokey eye look.
