Makeup Diaries- Rainy Days

As most of you are aware the weather here in London was a little miserable yesterday, I had a relatively relaxed morning organizing and sorting through my excessive amount of skincare and makeup but ventured out in the afternoon to Westfield for a much needed Pho and a browse around Zara, River Island and Boots. My boyfriend gave me 10 minutes to get ready as he informed me that he’d already booked the cab- I was in my tracksuit but had luckily had a shower so I threw on an easy yet fairly polished makeup look for the outing. For my base I used Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua followed by the ‘stars’ of the makeup look my Collection 2000 concealers, firstly the normal lasting perfection concealer which leaves a heavy coverage creamy finish without looking cakey or drying under the eyes, to brighten it up a little more I dabbed on a teeny amount of the illuminating touch brightening concealer. That all took around 2 minutes- no brushes, no fuss. Next up I used the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study on my lids, a kind of creamy, slightly shimmery pale pinky cream tone that instantly brightens tired eyes- something to cheer up my complexion despite the weather. On my lash line I used my new self sharpening (so cool) waterproof eyeliner by Smashbox in the shade Violetta which is a smokey purple-y brown shade which works particularly well with my hazel coloured eyes. On the waterline I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeliner in Nude to brighten things up a little, and then I dabbed the smallest amount of Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner 220 Perfect Plum on the outer corners of my water and bottom lash line to give it a slightly more smokey effect. Brows were kept simple using the bottom right shade from the HD Brows Foxy palette and lips were given a natural finish, firstly using the GOSH Waterproof Lip Liner Antique Rose and then going in with a creamy Oriflame nude. To sculpt my cheekbones as well as adding a little colour I swept on a little bit of Chanel Sienna Tweed onto my cheekbones to give a natural yet slightly contoured finish.

Overall I loved the finished result, perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon under Westfield lighting without being OTT. The stars of this look are the concealers and eyeliners for being such high quality and so season appropriate. For me Autumn is all about illuminating perfect skin and a hint of berry and warmth around the eyes.

I hope you enjoyed- please leave a comment below if you’d like the makeup diaries to become a weekly occurrence?

Happy Monday! Txx
