For the last three days I’ve attended three beautiful events to celebrate our good friends wedding. Being half Indian I’ve attended my fair share of asian weddings, and the one thing I look forward to every time is being able to be a little more OTT with my makeup. I’m talking black glittery eyeshadow and enough kohl to make a panda jealous (I jest of course- that would just be cruel).
I kept my base the same as usual using my favourite Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation and then used my two Collection concealers to correct and illuminate (hands up who wants a blog post on these budget beauty heroes?). On my eyelids right up into my crease I used L’Oreal Infallible Eternal Black using my Liz Earle blending brush to sweep on the pigment and really pack it in and build it up. In my tear ducts and at the very inner corners of my eyes I used the new Bourjois 24hour cream to powder shadows* to create a little dimension. I kept cheeks simple with just a few sweeps of Chanel Sienna Tweed blush to liven up my face and also contour my cheeks. On the high points of my cheekbones to highlight I dabbed a little Kryolan Velvet and to line my upper lash line I used Rimmel Scandaleyes Liquid Liner. Instead of opting for black under the eye I chose the slightly sexier deep brown/purple shade from Smashbox Always Sharp Eyeliner in the shade Violetta. Lashes were, of course, kept super long and thick using my new favourite mascara ever MAC 3D Dimensions in Extreme. Of course it wouldn’t be a complete look without something peachy nude and ultra glossy coating my lips, so I opted for Stila Lipglaze in Guava which is thee perfect shade for my skin tone (not too pale). All in all my makeup lasted really well all three nights (I changed the look around slightly from night to night) and it’s something I’m going to miss. Who knows- maybe every weekend I’ll whip out this uber made up, super sultry makeup look. If not I have another three day Indian wedding affair in January, maybe this time I’ll finally brave some lashes too!?
