I love drugstore products, I really do, but there’s something in me recently that has been gravitating towards the luxe packaging and sumptuous pigment pay off in high end products – lip products in particular. I’ve been a fan of Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipsticks for a while now, I love the cool packaging and the stain literally lasts a good eight hours without budging – seriously. I love wearing these on holiday, especially at the beach with a huge pair of sunglasses. They’re also great for busy London days and nights when reapplication and mirrors are a bit of a hassle in between meetings etc.
I rediscovered my love for Stila a few months ago at London Fashion Week and have been loving the lip glaze in the shade guava ever since. It smells divine and leaves lips super juicy and kissable – the pen like applicator is also fantastic, especially for reapplying on nights out sans compact.
I spoke about my love for Burberry Lip Mist Copper last week and for my birthday my lovely friend Aasiya added to my burberry beauty family and bought me this gorgeous Lip Velvet in Redwood, the most amazing pink toned red/berry shade (full review coming soon!). I love the Burberry packaging, the weight of the products feel expensive and durable and the super cool magnetic lids….well let’s just say I have a bit too much fun with them.
The newest member to my luxury lip products is this gorgeous Paul & Joe Beaute Lip Liner 02 which is a double ended lip liner with a lighter and darker shade at either end. I discovered this through the gorgeous Amelia’s blog. Needless to say the next morning after watching her video about making lips appear plumper I was in Harrods swatting away and before I had even realised it, I’d handed over my credit card. I will say though, this is perhaps the least purse weepingly pricey out of the bunch, for just £13.50 it is only around £5 or £6 more expensive then the drugstore dupes, and the packaging is just gorgeous!
