Let’s get Cheeky!

On Thursday I schlepped to East London to finally visit the Cheeky salon. If you’re not familiar with Cheeky let me give you a quick rundown- it’s Cowshed’s younger “naughtier” sister, and it has billed itself as “the hot new place in London to go for instant beauty gratification”.

No appointments necessary, just rock on up to Redchurch St, grab a ticket, have a coffee and wait your turn for a super chip resistant mani (with a gorgeous choice of nail art- I opted for a festive ‘present’ on my ring finger) for just £12 and you get to keep the polish! Think of it like a New York style salon (although I personally think this is worlds away from both the price point and let’s call it ambiance of a Korean nail salon on Canal St). It’s got a retro feel, which makes it more of a hangout than just a simple beauty salon, it’s for the 18 to 35 year old who has a big party ahead of her, time and cash poor- this is her chance to catch up with her friends as well as get her hair (in pretty much any retro style you can conjure up) and nails done on a budget as well as grab a bite of lunch with the girls.

Now I’m just waiting for a Cheeky salon to open up in West London- then I know where I’ll be every weekend!
