Into the Beiges

I’ve always associated face powder with ladies over a certain age or drag queens, to me, the idea of it seemed to be the ultimate definition of cake face, however that was until Gisele, well, to be more precise Chanel! (Note the rhyme)

Chanel’s new launch Les Beiges is the mastermind of their in-house makeup superstar Peter Philips and is designed to leave a healthy glow with an airbrushed soft finish. Six colours have been released and I’m somewhere in the middle as I tried N30 and it was a perfect match. I had my usual Chantecaille tinted moisturiser underneath, and the powder sort of mattified yet added a glow factor at the very same time. I’m in love! I’m also not going to lie, having Gisele as the face for this campaign quashes any doubt that the compact will leave you with the dreaded cake face, who doesn’t want to look like a healthy, gorgeous, perfect-skinned, Brazilian supermodel?

At £38 this compact isn’t cheap, but it comes in the most divine packaging, for the very first time Chanel have changed up their usual black with white emblem for a a pale beige (surprise surprise) with black emblem, it would look painfully glamorous on a dressing table. I can also imagine that this powder would be perfect for sweeping over ones skin after a day at the beach to add a little polish and coverage over your SPF. I really think I need this in my life ASAP, I want to look and feel like Gisele every day.
