It is sunny- in England- at long last hurrah! In celebration of the sun coming out to play for longer than 24 hours I compiled a quick London heatwave essential check list. All the al fresco eating and sticky tubes call for a hand gel to banish germs and bacteria, I personally love Cuticura from Boots for less than £2, the passion flower and mango smell is particularly pleasant. An SPF higher than 30 for your face is essential to prevent premature ageing, pigmentation and skin cancer, I vary between La Roche Posay’s Anthelios XL SPF 50 and Khiel’s SPF 50, both are non-greasy and don’t sit like a white mask on my face. A light refreshing cleanser that also controls oil is ideal for these sunnier climes, and one of my favourites is this cute sample size of REN’s Mayblossom T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel which keeps my skin fresh. Similarly I prefer using lighter moisturisers and this Avene one leaves skin hydrated and soft without being too heavy on the skin. For a head start get your tan on with He-Shi express liquid tan* which leaves skin beautifully bronzed without the biscuit-y smell or any streaks- result! Finally a bright pout is a must and you can’t go wrong with Revlon’s Colour Burst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti which leaves lips with a beautiful sheer wash of tangerine. Pop on a pair of sunglasses (the above are £1 from Primark!) and you’re ready for a day in the sun- save all the foundation and eyeliner for cooler days!
