Friday makeup- From desk to drinks..

Considering we had a bank holiday, this week still seems to have gone a little slow- just me?

Friday is finally here and I’ve picked out my favourite multi-tasking products to get you from desk to after work drinks without having to go home and change. Quick and easy steps to rid dull complexions and intensify the eye makeup.

First thing is first, prep your skin with a mattifying moisturiser in the morning, young skin no matter how ‘normal’ it is will always get shiny around 3 or 4 o’clock if you’ve had a full face of foundation on since 7am. A mattifying moisturiser will keep it hydrated and shine-free. I love Embryolisse Emulsion Hydra-Matte but neutrogena, La Roche Posay and other drug store brands also do great and reasonably priced ones. Next up, choose a foundation that has a little SPF in, but not over 15 (as later in the evening you’ll get flash back and look like a ghost in your instagram uploads!). This Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is ideal as it protects your skin whilst creating a flawless airbrushed finish- and it lasts a long time. You should reapply a little with your fingers mixed in with some more moisturiser around 5pm to refresh your make up.

Paint your nails a bright pink like this Clinique one in the shade Be Happy*. It’ll keep your digits looking pretty for day and lacquered and polished for later in the eve. Curling your lashes in the morning is vital for them to stay looking perky past 6pm, these Shu Uemura ones do the job best. A few strokes of Benefit They’re Real* mascara will really accentuate your lashes and when you add some Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Stick in Blackmail for after dark your eyes will look perfectly smokey and seductive. A little smudge of a balm or lipstick will take you from day to night, and this Clinique chubby stick in Whopping Watermelon* gives a lovely flush to lips for day time and works perfectly with a smokey eye for evening.

A few sweeps of a highlighter of your choice (I’d go for MAC skin finish in Soft & Gently) on your temples, brow bone and cheekbones and you’ll look completely polished and photo ready. I’d also suggest a few sprays of a dry shampoo and a quick brush with a tangle teezer, maybe a spray of a perfume (if you go into beauty halls, ask for a sample size of your eery day perfume to keep in your makeup bag) and you’re ready to go straight from desk to drinks and even to dancefloor!

Have a great Friday,

Tijan
