Annie, Charlotte, Ayesha and I

This week the blogging world (and the female population in general) have gone into excitement overdrive for the much anticipated launch of celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury’s makeup range to launch. Last week she did a sneak preview of the eyes and yesterday (Monday 2nd September) the full line was officially launched in Selfridges both in store and online as well as Net a Porter Beauty. My standout favourites from the collection is the Sophisticate eyeshadow palette which is beautifully pigmented and glides on like buttery silk and the much talked about Magic Cream. Charlotte’s Magic Cream has been a mystery in the beauty world for a while now, her version of Creme De La Mer it has been a secret mix of ingredients passed down from Charlotte’s grandmother to her and now to us! Charlotte recommends patting the cream gently into clean skin before patting your foundation over for a glowing finish. Although it is technically skincare with UVA and UVB SPF15 it acts like a primer. I was both extremely excited and hesitant to try the Magic Cream, excited because of all the hype and mystery surrounding it but also hesitant because I wasn’t sure how my combination skin would react. I’ve been using it for four days now and feel like I can give you my first thoughts.

1) It leaves skin looking radiant when worn alone.

2) When worn under makeup it makes foundation more dewy.

3) It does not make my t-zone oily or greasy- a surprise!

4) It sorted my dehydrated/dry and lacklustre post flight complexion right out.

5) It works both well on younger and more mature skin types imparting a natural luminosity.

What has impressed me so much about Charlotte’s new line is that the quality is truly excellent and that each product has been crafted to go with each other and to compliment specific eye colours- my friend had her eyes done up by Team Tilbury and her usual hazel coloured eyes came out looking green! Fans can expect the very best- not just pretty colours in pretty (ok very pretty) packaging. Next on my list are the shadow pencils and the lipsticks which are infused with special moisturising ingredient bixa orellana from the famous Kissing Tree from the Amazon Pucker up.

Agree the eye shadows are lush. Have just bought the “magic cream” and met Charlotte today so looking forward to trying it out myself! I don’t usually fall for hype but mega excited about this.
