Chanel, Balthazar and Macbeth

Yesterday I went into Covent Garden for a mooch around the Chanel make-up store (my first time- I can’t believe it!), a general browse, a pre-theatre dinner at the newly opened Balthazar (I love it’s sister restaurant Pastis in NY) and then off to see James McAvoy in Macbeth!

As this weather is getting more than a little tedious I’ve been getting really bored of all my winter coat options, I refuse to wear my faux furs- It’s Spring, my Zara black coat has definitely lost its buzz for me, my aviator leather jacket is less worn but still not quite warm enough, and it was then that out of the dregs of my closet I was reunited with an old navy Princess  coat from River Island circa 2008. I think that I wore it to death for a few seasons and then totally forgot about it- so it’s like it’s brand new…kinda. It felt perfect for the chilly but sunny Spring day!

The CHANEL store was an absolute visual treat and I now find myself needing not only the Beiges Healthy Glow Powder but also the Chanel kabuki brush- softest one I’ve ever tried..aahh. Next stop was Balthazar which was inviting, glamorous and delicious in equal measures, we filled ourselves up on their house salad (with truffle oil which I usually don’t love but it was incredibly on the salad) chicken paillard, onion rings, sauteed spinach and other yumminess. My mum and sister had the most amazing looking profiteroles for pudding, I wish I ate cream :(. Macbeth was gritty, gruesome and amazing and James McAvoy didn’t disappoint..although I’m finding it difficult for anything to surpass the amazingness of Book of Mormon..
