Beauty on a Budget

beautyonabudget beautyonabudget2   There’s something about January that gets people down, I for one love it. Full disclosure it is my birthday month, but I love how fired up and motivated people are in January for the year ahead, and how healthy and energised everyone seems to be. One thing that is apparent in January, is the lack of funds. So I thought I’d do a quick drugstore edit of some products which I’ve been loving this month that wont break the bank.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer I’d say that this concealer is a bit of a dupe for the NARS creamy radiant concealer. It’s packaging is incredibly similar, and the fluid sheer to medium coverage is almost identical. Dabbed under eyes it instantly erases dark circles, it also works wonders at covering blemishes and spots.

Revlon Colourburst Matte Balm I have the shade Standout, and it does exactly what it says. A beautiful creamy formula that dries like a stain and does not budge. I went out for dinner with Sabrina (who was also wearing it!) and we both eat huge Italian meals, and the product was still intact at the end. It doesn’t cling to dry patches and dry your lips out like other lip stains. The velvetty finish is also dreamy, I have my eyes on the rest of the shade range.

Maybelline Big Eyes mascara I’ve been loving this mascara over the last six weeks. It wakes sleepy eyes up instantly, I love the two different wands for the top and bottom lashes, ensuring you never end up with cakey bottom lasehs. The end result reminds me of Chanel Inimitable – my favourite high end mascara.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation After reading about this foundation and how it was a dupe of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk on Amelia’s blog I just had to try it out for myself. I opted for the shade Golden Beige and was left with a gorgeous flawless base, no caking, not too dewy, just the right amount of matte. Think of it as the foundation version of the Revlon Matte Balm – creamy and nourishing, but at the same time velvetty and long wearing in finish. I can’t wait to put a full review of this baby up soon!
