Yesterday my mum, sister, grandma and I headed off on a day trip to Paris to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. I feverishly stalked the weather in the preceding days to ensure that I was dressed appropriately. When I saw rain showers on and off all day and around 23 degrees with lots of humidity and mugginess I opted for Topshop boyfriend jeans, a little bandeau top from Missguided, a Zara blazer, white converse and a little burgundy River Island hat.
When we got off the Eurostar, the first thing I felt was….absolutely freezing. It was as if the train had deposited us at the end of October or early March – definitely not early August! After fluttering about for a while we wound up in Zara where my mum bought a whole new outfit, and I was lured in by a Kim Kardashian esque camel coat. I threw it on over my outfit and fell in love and had to buy it ASAP. It was so cosy and snuggly, but also felt so glamorous. We enjoyed a day of sauntering around (and generally getting soaked by freak thunderstorms), wandering up to Saint Sulpice (we had a brief sunny interlude) and I felt super cosy in my coat. We had a delicious lunch at my favourite restaurant – L’Avenue and generally over indulged in all things delicious.
I have to say, without my camel coat I seriously doubt my ability to have enjoyed the day. I’m looking forward to being back in a bikini next week, however, when the Summer does wind down to a close I now know that I have a pretty divine Autumn/Winter coat to look forward to!
What crazy weather!!! I really love your outfit and the coat. i have a similar one, the Filippa K Ines coat. Thanks for taking us on your trip; I do a trip to Paris a few times a year with some girlfriends too!
