Acne Chat

I’ve finally filmed a video where I talk about my skin’s history, the ups and downs and what I’ve found has truly helped me in keeping my acne and skin issues at bay. Get comfy with something nice to drink as things get very rambly chatty! I may film a wellness and other positive lifestyle changes video in a little while so let me know if that would be something that you’d like to see!

    Great video!
I’m a big advocate of ‘you are what you eat’ and I also find if I eat unhealthy stuff in excess I will break out, If I get a series of bad nights sleep I will break out. If I argue with my boyfriend I will definitely get a break out!

I try to eat a healthy diet, I love to cook, I exercise 4 times a week and I only drink water.

My skin is not too bad. It sounds the same as yours when I was younger. I tried evening jasmine and primrose oil when I was a young teenager (didn’t really help) and when I was older I also was put on Dianette. This helped massively and like you I was taken off it after a year and put on a more standard pill, my skin stayed the same.
Nowadays as long as I eat well, sleep well and don’t stress I am also fine in general.

However! A new problem I am having is ‘milk spots’ (millia – my facialist told me it was called) on my cheeks and cheekbones. These are tiny white bumps on the skin, not sore just rough 🙁
My facialist told me it is due to dry skin (I have used the same skincare regime for years so nothing has changed there) I moved to Scotland just under a year ago and I’m wondering if the cold temperatures are meaning I need to change moisturisers.
My facialist has told me I need to book another appointment to get them removed but online reviews have reported them returning so I want to sort out the underlying cause first!

My facialist also recommended a selection of Guinot products (a total regime change!) Do you have any experience with this brand and have you suffered with millia and do you have any advice?

Thanks, and sorry for the rambling!

I have the odd milia from time to time, my facialist always gets rid of them for me with a tiny needle – so your facialist is right, she is able to get rid of them for you. I have only used Guinot body care, to me their skincare isn’t right for me – it’s very focussed on anti-ageing. La Roche Posay Toleriane and Bidoerma Hydrabio ranges are amazing and reasonably priced, the hydrabio will definitely help with dehydration!
