3 Week Holiday Makeup- The Final Edit

holidaymakeupedit

As you read this post I’ll already be on my way on my three week road trip around Italy (Milan, Verona, Florence, Amalfi….it goes on) and the South of France (Cap Ferrat and St Tropez) and as boot space is limited I’ve had to seriously streamline and edit my skincare and makeup stash. Here’s part one which is an edit of the makeup I’m bringing with me and tomorrow’s is part two (skin and hair care).

BASE:

For makeup I went on a bit of a hunt to find a versatile base that would work for both hot city sightseeing, evenings out dancing and post sunbathing afternoon shopping sessions in Place Des Lices and the Croisette. I initially had my heat set on the Laura Mercier Oil free tinted moisturizer, an oldie but a goodie, to see me through as my oil and blemish busting medium coverage base of choice, but whilst perusing the aisles of ever trusty Boots I stumbled across Garnier BB cream Miracle Skin Perfector for oily to combination skin and after hurriedly trying it on my bare skin, I found it to be exactly what I was after and was a lovely coverage whilst also mattifying my shiny t-zone. For under £10 it is incredibly impressive and with SPF20 it will definitely see me through my travels (although I’m still planning on wearing my La Roche Posay Anthelios xl SPF50+++ under!). As bolt ons to my base I’m also taking my ever faithful Creme De La Mer radiance concealer for undereyes and lids and the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer to ramp up the coverage on any pigmentation or dark spots in the evening. I’ll of course be bringing along my gorgeous Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow powder in N30 to even everything out and add a flawless finish. That’s base sorted in just four products- impressive huh?

CHEEKS:

Next up is blush and bronzer and I’m taking Bourjois Bronzing Primer and NARS Casino to give my skin a bit of a glow as the high factor of SPF always leaves me with a paler face than body, the NARS bronzer is also fantastic for contouring with as it’s none shimmery. For blush I’m taking the Bourjois Cream Blush 02 Healthy Glow for a matte peachy hue and Max Factor Miracle Touch Cream Blush in Soft Pink for a more creamy and pink flush.

EYES:

For eyes I’m taking the Maybelline 24 hour colour tattoo On and On the Bronze as my basic ‘every day’ shadow, L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Eternal Black to create an evening smokey look and a couple of Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks in Bulletproof Beige and Bad Girl BronzeDaniel Sandler Waterproof Eyeliner in Brown Velvet is perfect for the under eye line and L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara in Magnetic Black is my mascara of choice.

BROWS:

I’ll be taking both my Hourglass Arch Sculpt Brown Pencil in Soft Brunette for just a little definition and my Suqqu eyebrow pen as it’s waterproof so great for sweaty sightseeing and adds more oomph to my fair brows!

LIPS:

I’ll be taking quite a few lip products, but the main ones I’ll be using will be the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Muse as it lasts all day and looks brilliant with a pair of sunglasses, my Korres Sheer Lipstick in Natural Pink has SPF 15 and leaves a lovely nude wash on the lips. I will of course also be bringing along my favourite lip balm- Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 to nourish my lips at night after days in the sun.

So there you have it- my extremely minimal holiday makeup edit! Stay tuned for skincare up tomorrow!
