A new year is upon us, which means it is high time to make some resolutions – specifically beauty resolutions to live by, I blame myself for my recent skin issues and so 2014 is the year that I start being a little (a lot) stricter with my routine.
1. Stop changing up skin care products… 2014 will be the year that I start saying no and only use the products that 100% work for me. My current routine only includes about 5 products with the only difference between am and pm routine being my choice in cleanser (milk in the morning and balm in the evening). I recently had a horrific experience with topical gels, so 2014 will also be the year that I say no to products that are way too harsh for my skin.
2. Weekly hair masks… hair masks are the one thing which I get really really lazy about. I only manage to do them around once every 6 weeks. But this year I’ll be doing Philip Kingsley Elasticizer once a week over night to keep my hair in tip top condition, with my wedding under a year away I want the silkiest and glossiest mane ever.
3. Be wary of colourists/stick to hair colour decisions… 2013 was the year that I really messed around with my hair colour, I literally went from Gisele blonde to darker than Megan Fox chocolate brown in the space of a month. I just couldn’t satisfy my constant decision changing. I’ve finally found a middle ground and I intend to keep it that way, my roots need doing now but I’m only going to allow the smallest amount of balayage (when the colour is painted on as opposed to highlights).
4. Contour more… Since using Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow (more on that beauty on Monday’s post ) I’ve realized how much better I look and feel with a little bit of facial sculpting, this will now take precedence in my makeup routine, even over eye makeup.
5. Drink more water… self explanatory…
6. Fish oil… I’ve had an on off relationship with fish oil capsules for over a year now, 2014 will be the year that I take them daily!
7. Give nails a break… 2014 will also be the year that I give my nails a polish free week once every other month to keep them from discolouring and healthy.
So there you have it, my new year beauty resolutions which I intend on actually sticking to! What are yours?
