It’s very rare that I post whole blog posts dedicated to beauty collections these days but upon receiving the newness from Tom Ford I couldn’t not share with you. As a self proclaimed beauty junkie the below literally made me squeal and I know that it will make you too!
New for SS17 Soleil Colour Tom Ford have brought out limited edition Soleil Lip Balms in clutch bag friendly sizing – the brand’s first ever foray into a lighter lip – the consistency is sheer and balmy with zero stick or excess shine. The colour pay off is also excellent, you can wear them alone for a wash of colour or layered on top of a lip liner or a lipstick to add more depth. My favourite is La Piscine – a deep burgundy which is the perfect level of sheer to pull off such an intense colour day to day.
The new Soleil Blanc Body Oil is the first time the brand have brought out their best selling fragrance in a simple oil with zero shimmer. The packaging is gorgeous – I’d recommend using a simple moisturiser on the bottom half of your body and then saving this for your arms and torso so you don’t waste the gorgeous scent – heavenly smelling and incredibly moisturising – the dream.
Sole Di Positano is the latest fragrance offering and it doesn’t disappoint – if you’re not a fan of green citrus scents then you may have to sit this one out, however if you want to quite literally smell like a Summer’s afternoon in Positano (think Calabrian bergamot, bitter orange, mandarin and lemon and then notes of shiso leaf, orange blossom, ylang-ylang, jasmine, lily of the valley and neroli and a mossy base). As ever with TF fragrances the silage is excellent and the wear time generous to justify the hefty price tag.
Other fun bits include this gorgeous retractable kabuki brush which is ideal for germaphobes like myself – ideal for powder touch ups on the t-zone or just to swirl around in a bronzer to add a healthy glow for Summer afternoons spent sipping an aperol spritz. The bronzing gel is also excellent and deposits a non streaky (or biscuity smelling) bronzed hue – ideal for pasty Winter legs that haven’t had enough sun yet. The new shimmer shot in “Firelust” imparts a rosy non shimmer shimmer – does that even make sense? It basically makes skin look gorgeously glowy without looking like reality tv star highlight. Don’t let the use of “fire” put you off, this won’t make you look sunburnt, just sunkissed in a natural way – perfect for drinks at dusk.
Are you tempted to invest in any of the new Tom Ford collection? My top picks would be the balms and the kabuki but am really enamoured with all of it!
Sole Di Positano is available now and everything else hits counters on 28th April!
