The Mid Length Chop

After a week or so of deliberating between cutting my hair into a bob or leaving it long I went for the safe option and just opted for a mid cut. This cut is literally ideal for any other long haired ladies who are attached to their tresses, but really love the ‘lob’ (long bob)/French/cool girl look. It definitely feels like change, but you still have hair to tong and swish around and it doesn’t feel ‘short’, just different.

The main thing I love about this cut though, is that it’s a style, it’s not just hair – if that makes sense. I love that I can messily tong it and then waves stay in for hours, unlike when I had super long hair, I had to tong it extra tight and spray it with layers of hair spray. So I thought I’d quickly whizz you through my new healthier hair styling routine (stolen from my stylist). Whilst it’s wet, spritz liberally with Bumble Surf Spray from roots right through to the ends, rough dry, using any old tongs (I still love the Diva Big Hot Wand) curl away from the face, but leave around 1/2 an inch at the end totally straight for a more relaxed vibe, once done tip your hair forward, spritz some more salt spray and then for added gloss/French sexiness, blast the hair drier for a few more seconds and voila – perfect Isabel Marant esque hair that looks glossy and healthy.

Have I tempted any of you to go for the chop?

I literally got my hair chopped last night! It is ever so slightly shorter than yours but I love love love it! Perfect length for summer here in New Zealand and lots of sun-kissed highlights. I adore your blog and YouTube channel. You have impeccable taste!

I love your hair, looks really healthy although it did before! I bought the Origins drink up mask on your recommendation after Christmas, it’s fantastic isn’t it.
    Have a lovely day
