Asides from being sexy and beautiful and both lovers of the French crooner Serge Gainsbourg, what else did Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot have in common? One was a sex pot, the other an insouciant slight tom boy. However, both oozed a certain je ne sais quoi when it came to style and this look that I opted for the other day was inspired by both of their personal style. The bardot off the shoulder top (£14 from Miss Selfridge) paired with the corduroy black skirt that I picked up in the Urban Outfitters sale (a steal at £18), this Nasty Gal biker jacket, a pair of school girl tights, chelsea boots and my Saint Laurent Sac De Jour felt super French but with a modern twist, I also love these Rose Gold earrings from Astrid & Miyu to add a touch of cool glamour available here. It was whilst editing these photos I finally decided to take the plunge to cut my hair to add more of a rock’n’roll care free French vibe to my look. Bonjour 2015!
