As I do beauty posts a little less than I did before, something has to be truly special to get a mention let alone a post. Today I’m going to talk about the game changers that have really stepped up and made doing my makeup a 5 minute task.
Smashbox CC Cream – I’ve gone on and on about this product a lot over the last 6 weeks or so, and that’s because it’s truly a wonderful base. It’s one of the nicest light bases I’ve ever come across and melts into the skin easily. I love that it has SPF30, it doesn’t disappear halfway throughout the day and it leaves a lovely glow without being too oily and shiny (FYI I’m looking at you Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser *shudders*).
Maybelline Drama Gel Liner – After being loyal to browns and blue kohl liners for over a year, it was always going to take something special to get me back on the black liquid/gel love train. This liner makes doing a feline flick a doodle – proof here. I love that it doesn’t budge at all even after a sweaty, hot, gross tube journey. It’s one of the best liners around and it’s under £10.00. Rejoice!
J.LO/Cheryl’s Nude – This is one of the newer additions into my makeup kit and one that confused me at first. Basically, it is technically Cheryl Cole’s nude (the limited edition one she did for L’Oreal) but they’ve rebranded it and kicked Cole off the name and stuck J Lo’s on instead. To be honest, I don’t care! It’s just a gorgeous lipstick that makes skin look brighter and clearer and it also works beautifully for mixing with other lipsticks to bring down the wattage of more vibrant colours. I’ll always have one of these in my handbag.
Anastasia Brow Wiz – After initially discarding this, I’ve recently become hooked. You can draw on teeny tiny baby hairs on your brows to define them, or you can do larger sweeps to really build and add some brow drama. It instantly makes me look more “finished” and I love how my brows look artfully defined without being OTT.
So there you have it, my current daily products that really help keep me focussed in the mornings. I obviously still have fun with different eyeshadows and blushers, but these basics ensure that my makeup takes 5 minutes max and I love them!
I also have the Brow Wiz, but the colour I have(brunette) is a bit warm for me. I shall try it again sometime though…
I love the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo. But my Holy Grail eyebrow product is the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette.
