Summer Skin

I’ve always been of the belief that gentle and mild products were the way forward with skincare. I have blemish prone skin with an extremely oily t-zone in the Summer months and yet still use facial oils and cleansing oils, that was until I bit the bullet and decided to (for once) use a product specifically targeting oily and blemish prone skins. Anything too “acne targeted” has always scared  me, I worried about it drying out my skin and making it worse, however I have just discovered the answer to my skincare prayers – a deep cleanser that removes excess oils without stripping the skin, it unclogs pores without being astringent and it purifies the skin without leaving a hint of dryness. First Aid Beauty (FAB) is a skincare line that I’ve heard quite a bit about over the past few years but never tried anything from them, until now. They don’t make overly wild claims – just simple and straight forward ones targeted and specific skincare problems and totally paraben free, the packaging is fun and young, the prices are reasonable and the products actually work. After a busy day on muggy tubes and running around town cleansing with the Deep Cleanser with Red Clay feels like heaven, not only does it make my skin feel radiant and clear but it is also a damn good makeup remover as well, the red clay pulls off all of the grimy makeup as well as excess oils and clogged pores, it is a dream to use.

I’ve also been following up my cleanse with their Blemish Patrol Pads which I’ve been using in lieu of a toner, they don’t tingle the skin despite the small amount of salicylic acid in them (which means they’re fantastic for sensitive skin types) and leave my skin feeling glowing and not overly tight. They tighten pores, sweep away pesky whiteheads and feel incredibly refreshing. Whether these products will work for me in the cooler months is yet to be seen but right now they’re my HG.
