Pre-Birthday Beauty

So this Saturday I’m turning 22!

I have the most amazing weekend lined up starting tomorrow- so tonight I’m going to be doing some pre-birthday beautifying prep.

skincare

Left to Right- Emma Hardie Cleanser, Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask, REN Glycolactic Radianc Renewal Mask *sample size*, Dermalogica Multi Active Toner, Hydraluron, YSL forever youth serum *sample size*, Dermalogica Moisture Balance Intense, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment.

I’ll cleanse with my usual Emma Hardie Cleanser and then put on my current favourite clay mask ‘Fresh Umbrian Clay Mask’ which doubles up as a deep cleanser and spot treatment! As Fresh is an American brand the best place to purchase is either online or if you’re London based then they have a lovely shop on Marylebone High Street.

The mask only needs around 5 minutes on (it does a wonderful job of purifying the skin- banishing any imperfections and generally mattifying my sometimes oily t-zone) after which I’ll remove it with a warm flannel.

Next up I’ll put on a second mask- this time an exfoliating and brightening one, REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal is gentle enough whilst still exfolitating the skin deeply and giving a nice tingling sensation. I like to leave the REN mask on for ages, so whilst thats doing it’s radiance enhancing job, I’ll get to work on my nails and toes.

I’ll be painting my toes with Essie’s ‘Fifth Avenue’, a tomato sauce-esque red which always leaves my feet looking happy year round, and will look perfect for my night out on Saturday. My nails will be a more paired down affair as I’m currently (and have been intermittently for the past 4 years) been having a love affair with Nails Inc. Jermyn Street (also funnily enough where I’ll be celebrating on Saturday night!)

After I’ve ensured that my nails are suitably dry and glossy (Rimmel topcoat) I’ll take off the REN mask with a fresh hot flannel and get to work on the end of my skin care routine.

Firstly I’ll spray my Dermalogica Multi-Active toner to re-fresh my skin and give it a moisture boost (it also smells divine) , next  I’m currently trialling YSL’s ‘Youth Forever’ serum which seems to be doing a wonderful job of making my skin look very glowy indeed, if my skin is feeling particularly in need of nourishment (especially after the clay mask) I’ll slap on Hydraluron, a type of serum which really boosts your skins ability to retain moisture. Lastly but certainly not least I’ll put on a generous amount of Dermalogica Moisture Balance Intense cream and lashings of Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment (best lip balm ever!).

I’ll be watching this weeks Pretty Little Liars and the new episode of The Carrie Diaries intermittently!
