It’s that time again, when temperatures rise and the SPFs are part of your daily skincare routine – meaning that things can get shiny pretty quickly. I always try and keep the shine factor under control and when I heard that DHC were bringing out a clarifying and oil controlling primer I was all over it like a rash (ewww).
Ok so the DHC Clarifying Pore Cover Base promises a totally poreless, shine free and smooth canvas for which to then put your makeup on top. It has a gel to powder consistency which feels lovely on the skin, and surprisingly not at all drying. I only used the smallest amount on my t-zone and went about my day. Now, I don’t know about you but on rainy days, my skin gets shinier quickly – I think it’s something to do with the humidity, but I noticed my usually reflective t-zone by mid afternoon was totally shine free and looked lovely and smooth. A serious result, I didn’t even need a powder top up!
Key ingredients include liquorice to soothe the skin, rosehip and artichoke leaf extracts to visibly tighten and minimise the appearance of pores, vitamin E for its antioxidant and skin soothing properties and olive leaf extract to help protect, firm and nourish. All in all, I’m looking forward to continually using this to hopefully see a difference in the amount of blackheads in the t-zone area. I feel like I may have just found my HG Summer primer!
